Job Title : Refinery TA Operations Manager / SME

Position Objectives:

Corporate Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Operations in the planning preparation and execution of turnarounds.   


Develops Refinery resources to lead site specific effort, working with the Operations Manager, to identify, assign and develop TA Operations Coordinators.


Primary Functions/Responsibilities:

  •         Develop the Corporate TA processes for;
    •          Developing TA shutdown and start-up sequence and activities. 
    •          Developing PSSR plan
    • <li designtimesp="\\\\&quot;21246\\\\&quot;" style="\\\\&quot;margin-left:" 34.55pt;\\\\"="">          Developing standard plant system turnover process
  •       Work with the Corporate TA HSE representative to develop the construction SIMOPS program
  •       Support TA Teams in the development of the procedures, practices and other techniques to facilitate the turnaround, decommissioning / commissioning and disposal activities.
  •       Develop staffing plan for Operations activities during the turnaround
  •       Interface with the TA Operations Coordinators on a routine basis to ensure they stay informed on TA activities and any plan changes
  •       Support the updating and development of standard operating procedures and the training certification that follows
  •       Support the Operational Excellence activities
  •       Coordination between TA and plant organization to ensure integration and implementation of EHS requirements
  •       Set the safety tone for the Operations
  •       Ensure the Event and T/A operations activities are integrated
  •       Assess the shutdown, start-up, and chemical cleaning procedures and plans
  •       Participates in the identification and capturing of lessons learned for the next turnaround and T/A Manual revalidation process

Critical Skills

  •          10+ years of operating facility experience
  •          Refining experience preferred
  •          Knowledge of and proven experience in key components of moderate-to-major turnaround execution, from pre-sanction through execution and start-up
  •          Demonstrated knowledge of safe work practices, including PSM practices
  •          Supervisory experience/experience with a shift working organization
  •          Experience developing and implementing SD/SU & commissioning plans
  •          Demonstrated ability to build an aligned team to plan and complete all critical project tasks consistent with overall project objectives
  •          Leads by example; demonstrates company core values, including valuing people, ethics, safety, and environmental compliance
  •          Demonstrated written and oral communication skills.
