Job Title : I&E Planner (Maintenance)

Position Objectives:


Maintenance planning, SAP, 4x10 schedule, locals, long long term. 


This person will need to have planning experience in both electrical and Instrumentation.  Strong abilities in High Voltage for Sub Stations, DCS, Control Valves, ETC…

  • Planning  Duties;

•           Oversee as the owners representative

•          Plans Turnaround Schedules as an Owners rep

•           Experienced planning TA for Electrical and Instrumentation

•           Ability to read and interpret P&ID’s , Blueprints and Drawings

•           Ability to do minor sketches  and Drawings

•           Must have thorough understanding of towers, vessels, drums, and piping

•           Effectively communicates with owner & contractor personnel

•           Broad experience in maintenance, construction and Turnaround practices

•           Strong experience in I&E estimating experience in refining Units

•           Perform unit walk down of equipment to verify estimates

•           Estimate man hours and support equipment for crafts and laborers

•           Responsible for developing detailed plans to accomplish the scope of work for a given area or areas

•           Assemble estimates with Excel or Access and complete the estimates with material take offs 

 I&E Related Duties;

Perform root cause failure analysis (RCFA) on equipment failures

Recommend corrective actions on instrumentation and electrical equipment that has failed

Scope corrective actions on equipment found to be deficient

Provide oversight for acceptance testing of hardware, and software for new DCS or PLCs installations

Oversee the field construction, verification of proper installation, performing loop checks and the oversight of final commissioning of instrumentation and electrical equipment associated with capital or maintenance projects

Suggest and develop project management and repair optimization strategies

Provide ownership to one or more electrical reliability programs for a specific type of equipment (i.e., distribution assets or motors) including purchasing specs, repair quality standards and reliability strategies

Develop risk assessments and long-term plans for critical equipment

Lead the development and implementation of reliability strategies for critical plant electrical equipment using Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and standards for preventative/predictive maintenance (PM/PdM)

Lead the development and implementation of PM programs for general purpose equipment.

Comply with process Safety Management and Process Hazard Analysis requirements

Monitor critical equipment using transformer oil analysis, thermal imaging and various other condition based monitoring tools

Advise and assist on-site electricians, instrument technicians, planners and supervisors on electrical and instrument repairs.

Provide selection and specification of new electrical and instrument equipment on capital projects, participate as a technical adviser on capital projects and turnarounds

Physical requirements;

•           Must be able to walk down jobs in the field ( IE., climb Towers, Utilize Scaffold, Lift equipment, etc.)

•           Must be able to climb Stairs, Bend around pipe racks, Inspect  Blinding areas, etc. in the field ( IE., climb Towers, Utilize Scaffold, Lift equipment, etc.)

•           Must be able to scope out work orders (IE. Find equipment in field) and read and understand P&ID, Sketches and drawings
