KAP is searching for a Construction Manager to be located in Bakersfield California for an Energy company. They are working on a new capital project where they are building a new skid/modular units. They already have an EPC company that will be performing all of the engineering, Procurement, and construction but are needing a 3rd party Construction Manager to be a representative of Client ensuring that the EPC construction is following schedule and performing the work in alignment with Clients expectations. This project is currently in the Engineering phase and the Client is working on permits. They are looking to bring someone onboard by early July but will take this person early because the Client understands the importance of having the right person and will take someone when we have identified the right person.
Your Role;
- Leads work scope collection process and significant contributor to the scope challenge and selection process, including development of line item estimates.
- Supports the development of Contracting strategy for the Projects.
- Leads the development of the budget / estimate preparation for the Projects
- Coordinates all optimization modules including Assurance Reviews, Schedule Optimizations, etc..
- Responsible for development of detailed work scope and execution plan, reviews job estimates, plans, bills of material, and work packages of Planners and Schedulers to ensure quality and completeness, including facilities and logistics.
- Optimizes the work plan through coordinated discipline reviews.
- Responsible for development of the long lead equipment plan.
- Works closely with operations counterparts to ensure proper integration.
- Accountable for the application of the Scheduling Premises document to ensure optimization of schedule and efficient execution of Projects scope – leveled resource plan, critical path / near critical path understanding.
- Facilitates archiving of Project files and records, and financial closeout .
- Provides a critique of Project activities
- Performance management of execution contractors.
- Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
- High School Diploma; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Minimum five (5) years of overall experience in TAs, maintenance, Skid design, and/or project construction in refining or petrochemical environment.
- Minimum five (5) years of supervisory experience managing contractor work force.
