KAP is looking for a fixed equipment (mechanical) engineer to support TA work scope planning, piping/vessel repair package review/development, and TA execution.
Initially will be place in the Crude TA (execution is this October-November) unit, with the potential, pending performance to work on other scheduled TA's next year and the following years.
JOB SUMMARY:
This employee will provide technical expertise and recommendations for fixed equipment mechanical integrity, repairs, and reliability improvements.
- Provide daily technical support to maintenance and operations regarding the reliability of fixed equipment.
- Utilize ASME and API codes and standards for fixed equipment calculations, including minimum thickness assessments, vessel re-rates, and reinforcements.
- Perform piping system or vessel stress analysis with programs such as Sage Plus, Abaqus, and Caesar II.
- Work with maintenance and inspection to review fixed equipment inspection data and assist with the development and approval of repair recommendations.
- Support and mentor less experienced fixed equipment engineers.
- Support the planning and execution stages of turnaround maintenance.
- Lead and assist with root cause failure analysis of fixed equipment and the development of reliability improvement recommendations.
- Lead the long term reliability planning of fixed equipment issues.
- Working knowledge of ASME PCC-2 Repair of Pressure Equipment and Piping
- Familiarity or experience with API 650 and 653 Tank Design, Fabrication and Inspection codes
- Experience with performing Level 2 and/or Level 3 APl-579 Fitness for Service Analyses
- Experience applying ASME/API/NBIC codes and calculations relating to alterations, re-rates and repairs
- Familiarity, working knowledge or direct experience with API 580/581 Risk Based Inspection methodology
ANALYSIS AND PROBLEM SOLVING:
Utilize ASME and API Codes to perform fixed equipment calculations, including minimum thickness assessments, vessel re-rates, and reinforcements.
Work with Maintenance and inspection to review fixed equipment inspection data and assist with the development and approval of repair recommendations.
Provide engineering support for the review and approval of piping and equipment drawings using the applicable specifications.
