Corporate Turnaround Scheduler – Job Description
The Corporate Turnaround Team is seeking a Turnaround (TAR) Scheduler to support the full turnaround lifecycle (planning, execution, closeout) across multiple refineries. The Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, progressing, and reporting Primavera (P6) schedules and ensuring adherence to TAR scheduling standards. The role supports logic development, manpower leveling, hiring plan reviews, pre-TAR performance reporting, daily TAR phase execution reporting, and closeout/benchmarking. The position interfaces closely with Operations, Maintenance, Inspection, Contractors, and Project Controls.
Travel Required: Approximately 75%, including travel to refineries for planning sessions, field validation, readiness reviews, and turnaround execution support.

- Manage assigned turnaround plans and integrate them into the Primavera Master Schedule
- Assume lead ownership of assigned Primavera files; ensure scope changes after the control estimate are properly documented and approved
- Ensure correct schedule coding, calendars, resources, and activity relationships per TAR practices
- Maintain schedule alignment as job cards are submitted and scope is updated by Area Leads
- Attend and support logic reviews with Area Leads, Inspection, Operations, and individual units to finalize logic
- Lead resource loading and manpower leveling for the entire turnaround file and generate workforce histograms for Pre-TAR, TAR phase, and post-TAR periods
- Interface with Project Controls during hiring plan reviews to validate staffing assumptions and alignment with leveling outputs
- Interface with planners (Client+ contractor) to assure plans, logic, and standards align with TAR expectations
- Input and validate progress updates for construction, pre-TAR, execution, and post-TAR phases
- Ensure weekly pre-TAR progress reports, look-ahead schedules, and schedule health metrics are timely, accurate, and complete
- Provide schedule data to support check estimate and control estimate development and pass man-hours to Project Controls as required
- Produce daily reporting during turnaround execution including:
- Look-ahead schedules, Daily schedules, Progress curves, Bar charts, Critical path and near-critical summaries, Schedule KPIs
- Track, integrate, and schedule growth and discovery work in real time during execution
- Support field verification of progress and constraint removal, including recovery actions when necessary
- Maintain consistent reporting across shifts and handoffs
- Provide schedule data and performance metrics for closeout and benchmarking
- Produce data packages, summaries, and post-TAR findings to support lessons learned and continuous improvement
- Support standardization, best practices, and TAR scheduling governance across refineries and the enterprise
- Mentor users on Primavera logic development, coding practices, reporting, and TAR scheduling standards
- Train and support Primavera users; assist in development of planner manuals and reference documentation
- Troubleshoot scheduling, coding, and logic challenges for refinery planners and contractor partners
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
- 5+ years scheduling experience in turnaround, maintenance, industrial, or heavy construction environments preferred
- Refining or petrochemical experience strongly preferred
- Proficiency with Primavera P6 required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; advanced Excel desired
- Experience with SAP, contractor planning systems, or BI/analytics tools a plus
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams
- Ability to travel 75%, including periods of extended travel during turnaround execution
- Ability to support field/industrial execution environments
