Pay rate: based on experience but very competitive Benefits: Excellent Benefits, Health, Dental, Vision, 401K, Paid Time Off Schedule: 9/80 more hours are available with increasing hours as needed Start Date: ASAP - Approximately 2 weeks to mobilize Duration: Long Term Supporting: Projects and Turnarounds Duties: The SAP Buyer / Requisition Tech position will provide general procurement support for Refinery, Turnaround, and Capital Project needs including cost negotiations and contracting requirements. Prepares contract and procurement legal instruments, including negotiation of commercial requirements and terms and conditions, obtaining delegation of authority approvals, and ensuring execution of contractual documents Participates in the planning process in order to anticipate upcoming business needs and develop appropriate contracting strategies as required given the project or service requirements Evaluates supplier performance for pre-qualification Develops new sources of supply continuously and maintains the sites Approved Contractor List Initiates the contract process per business unit request and in adherence with refinery and corporate policies Evaluates bids and makes award recommendations to the business units Prepares and facilitates execution of internal forms related to the contracts process Steward and lead meetings between opposing legal teams when necessary, steering the meetings content, direction, and decision-making processes; guiding the group towards consensus or clear follow-up. Creates and maintains contracts in SAP Loads and maintains contractor rates and other relevant information in TRACK Creates and distributes weekly or ad-hoc reports Monitors and analyzes supplier performance using internal feedback Participate in audit queries Identifies areas for savings and executes related projects Participates in continuous process improvement activities Provides guidance and training on contract policies to refinery personnel Build detailed cost comparisons to identify savings opportunities and to be shared with management Work Experience: experience in sourcing, purchasing, contracting, warehousing or distribution required Knowledge of refinery terminology, processes, equipment and materials Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Power Point, Excel, and SharePoint) Strong working knowledge of SAP Core Competencies and Characteristics: Ability to communicate clearly at all levels of the organization as well as with suppliers Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating a proactive and results-oriented mindset. Demonstrates the ability to understand issues, develop plans and set metric to measure progress toward goals Proficient in advanced MS Excel skills and building analytical tools to be used in negotiations Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills; ability to build strong relationships Attention to detail with the ability to multitask and prioritize Time management is essential Able to handle day to day tactical concerns, while staying on course with long term strategic targets Strong negotiation skills and experience Strong decision-making, analytical and problem-solving skills Understanding of Supply Chain Management
