Detail-oriented, reliable, creative team player to lead field technical support for routine maintenance, turnaround (TAR), shutdown, outages, and project activities focused on fixed (static) equipment projects.This position is in a refinery and is intended to provide coordination of contractor activities involved in mobilization, pre- TAR work execution, TAR execution, post-TAR execution, and demobilization. The primary objective of this position is to improve contractor work efficiency by working with the contractor to identify "road blocks" and get them removed. In doing so, future TAR's will be more effectively executed, reducing cost and schedule duration.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
- Experience: Typically 3 to 10+ years
Responsibilities
- Responsible for providing Turnaround Management Services to support client’s requirements in achieving successful projects.
- Manage Turnarounds from inception through execution.
- Develop staffing requirements, estimate team manhours, setup field support needs, and mobilize supporting staff.
- Assist client in developing scope of work
- Based upon the scope of work, estimate team manhours, mobilize personnel per plan
- Manage and Support personnel and report to client
- Provides the support to client management in order to achieve success.
- Monitor TAR contractor activities in the field and provide general safety and QC oversight. It is important to have a strong Client presence in the field during all phases of TAR activities, to ensure work is being executed in a safe and effective manner.
- Interface with contractor supervision and be a point of contact to remove "road blocks" encountered by the contractor. Giving the contractor a point of contact helps to quickly resolve interferences with the execution of work and improves contractor work efficiency.
- Measure the contractor's work efficiency and report results. Request additional resources or initiate demobilization as appropriate. Establishing a program to monitor contractor work efficiency will provide data to be used in performance based contracts and also provides insight to the causes of work inefficiency.
- Train contractor field supervision on TAR procedures that they will be impacted by and need to understand. Providing up front contractor training will help avoid confusion and inefficiency during the TAR.
- Participate and provide input in post TAR critique/lessons learned meetings. This will improve the quality of contractor performance for future TAR's and help avoid repeating mistakes.
