Unit Inspector

Unit Inspector

The unit inspector (RBI) will execute required inspections accurately in compliance with inspection requirements, practices, guidelines and policies for continuous improvement in stationary equipment as assigned by the mechanical integrity inspector. They are the primary field contact for their assigned area/ unit for both inspection and maintenance related activities and needs and reports back findings through reports to the RBI inspector for the purpose of determining remaining life, repair and replacement recommendations. A key task will be the updating and maintenance of the piping circuit files to capture changes from projects.  Identify new TML points for the circuits.  These lead to the updating of the RBI system. The Inspector utilizes inspection management systems, methodology, tools and programs to ensure ongoing reliability, cost effective maintenance, safe operations and continuous improvement in the stationary equipment. SHE - Responsibilities
  • Report unexpected corrosion discovery.
  • Understand and lead by example for all safety and environmental programs.  Investigate SHE incidents as directed  Report, and address SHE near misses.
  • Maintain safety as the highest priority of the plant
  • Maintain the 20 Principles of Safety
  • Conduct routine As Care tours and participate in audits.
  • Adhere to and uphold all safety policies and standards
Inspection KPI
  • Report inspections performed as related to inspection look-a-head
  • Report number of recommendations that are new, open, and closed
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Primary inspection focal point for their assigned unit/ area.
  • Work with other site inspectors to identify required RBI inspections
  • Knowledgeable of ASME design codes and champions inspection code compliance.
  • Reviews the requirements for fixed equipment and Operational Excellence, corporate inspection and maintenance standards, and site specific procedures.
  • Execute Turnarounds as directed by inspection supervisor.
  • Develops and optimizes stationary equipment inspection and repair scope for the turnaround. Plans NDE resources for the turnaround and leads the execution of inspection scope during the turnaround.
  • Supports, mentors and develops less experienced inspectors.
  • Assists in the maintenance of the pipe circuit P&IDs to account for field modifications stemming from the “management of change” process. This will include working with the RBI inspector to determine the locations of new TML points.
  • Perform PMI inspections
