- While in an environment of conflicting and rapidly changing priorities, proactively lead and direct all team members towards the achievement of safety objectives, business goals, and continuous improvements to meet the business needs of the plant.
- Manage performance by delivering daily results in support of Safety, Health, & Environmental compliance, fixed cost compliance, and unit profitability.
- Manage efficient utilization of all resources within the Team to best support the Business.
- Lead and ensure the career development of key personnel at all levels for the purposes of succession planning
- Direct customers, both internal and external, with priorities to achieve goals of the site.
- Oversee and support the Maintenance Manager with regards to setting a weekly plant maintenance schedule. Interface with Operations to set priorities to ensure immediate and long term plant reliability.
- Ensure that systems are in place for maximizing the long-term reliability of the site and the safe execution of maintenance work
- Manage and direct all outage related activities related to outage project scope development, outage budget management, reliability requirements, shut down and start up support.
- Initiate and assist Maintenance and Reliability Engineers to help analyze and resolve any equipment reliability issues that are presented
- Assist in the development of annual Maintenance department operating budget.
- Work with Maintenance Supervisor to manage allocation of expenditures to maintain high plant reliability and asset integrity.
- Provide guidance to direct reports and maintenance work processes.
- Determine specific capabilities of subordinates and define development plans for each as well as for the department to address and surpass capability gaps on both individual as well as departmental level.
- Develop Performance, Training and Career Development Plans for all members of the team, evaluate annually.
Skills/Competencies
Level of Education & Experience in general- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
- Must have a minimum of 7-10 years of chemical plant or manufacturing environment experience.
- Must have a minimum of 3-5 years of leadership/supervisory experience
- Extensive knowledge of SAP, and Maintenance Workflow process
- Knowledge of Rotating Equipment (Sundyne, centrifugal pumps, PD pumps, Recip. Compressors, and turbomachinery).
- Experience with Microsoft products, such as Project, Excel, etc.
- 7-10 years’ experience in the installation, repair, and maintenance of related industrial equipment required
- Preferred 3-5 years of direct planning and scheduling experience and demonstrated proficiency in industry-wide and plant-specific safety, equipment repair, work processes planning, piping and instrumentation layout, and personnel management techniques and procedures required
