Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced FCC Turnaround Planner to support the planning and execution of a major refinery turnaround scheduled for October 2028. This role will be responsible for developing high-quality work packages, coordinating with operations, engineering, contractors, and turnaround leadership, and ensuring work is thoroughly planned for safe and efficient execution.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed turnaround work packages and job plans.
- Participate in work scope collection, job walkdowns, and planning milestone reviews.
- Create detailed job step-outs, equipment bills of material (BOMs), and material requisitions.
- Audit job kits for completeness and ensure proper staging and storage.
- Coordinate planning activities with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Inspection, and contractors.
- Support constructability reviews, critical path planning, crane and rigging plans, and scope risk assessments.
- Review contractor schedules and distribute finalized work packages to field supervision.
- Incorporate approved scope changes into work packages throughout the planning process.
- Monitor planning progress, staffing, job kit readiness, and report concerns to Turnaround leadership.
- Participate in contractor mobilization planning and pre-turnaround readiness activities.
- During turnaround execution, provide field support by coordinating contractors, monitoring work progress, ensuring schedule compliance, supporting safe work execution, and assisting with contractor demobilization and final work completion.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience planning FCC (Fluid Catalytic Cracking Unit) turnarounds in a refinery or petrochemical facility.
- Strong understanding of refinery turnaround planning processes and work package development.
- Experience performing field walkdowns and developing detailed maintenance work scopes.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, contractors, and Turnaround leadership.
- Experience developing material lists, job kits, and detailed work instructions.
- Working knowledge of turnaround scheduling and execution practices.
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA is preferred.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
