  • Compensation: Dependent on Experience (DOE)
  • Schedule: 5x10s - additional hours up to 60–70 hours/week as required

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Scheduler Manager to lead the scheduling function for a long-term Combined Cycle Power Plant project. In this senior role, you will oversee end-to-end schedule creation, maintenance, and integration across all project phases—Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Startup (EPC).

Operating out of our Downers Grove project office, you will lead a dedicated scheduling team, ensure contractual alignment, drive Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) methodologies, and serve as the primary scheduling liaison to executive leadership, joint venture partners, and project owners.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Management: Oversee scheduling team operations, workflow distribution, performance evaluations, and mentorship.

  • Baseline & Schedule Development: Lead the creation, updates, baseline, and potential re-baseline efforts across all project phases.

  • Advanced Integration: Embed Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) practices into the integrated master schedule to align field execution with engineering and procurement deliverables.

  • Reporting & Analytics: Produce and review high-level weekly and monthly scheduling reports, S-curves, critical path analyses, and progress summaries for key stakeholders.

  • Stakeholder & Client Representation: Represent the scheduling discipline in client alignment meetings, owner progress updates, cost/schedule reviews, and change order discussions.

  • Quality & Compliance: Maintain strict compliance with contract terms, promote best practices, and execute routine schedule health checks (e.g., float path analysis, open ends, logic validation via Acumen Fuse).

Primary Objectives
  • Lead Project Scheduling Strategy: Direct the development, baselining, and continuous optimization of complex EPC power plant schedules.

  • Maintain Schedule Integrity: Perform rigorous quality checks, float analyses, and schedule risk assessments using advanced software tools.

  • Drive Mitigation & Solutions: Proactively identify critical path slippages, lead schedule recovery efforts, and deliver actionable insights to project leadership.

  • Team Leadership & Coordination: Supervise scheduling staff while ensuring tight coordination across engineering, procurement, field construction, and commissioning teams.

Qualifications & Industry Experience
  • Industry Experience: Direct, hands-on experience in EPC heavy industrial construction, specifically within the Power Generation sector (Combined Cycle gas turbine experience strongly preferred).

  • Project Controls Expertise: Proven track record managing integrated master schedules and coordinating across engineering, procurement, construction, and startup/commissioning phases.

  • Software Proficiency: Advanced, expert-level expertise in Primavera P6 and schedule diagnostic tools such as Deltek Acumen Fuse.

  • Advanced Work Packaging (AWP): Demonstrated understanding and practical application of AWP and work-breakdown structures in large-scale capital projects.

  • Communication & Leadership: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to lead teams, present complex data clearly, and negotiate schedule impacts with clients and sub-contractors.

Working Conditions & Commitment
  • Location: Based out of the Downers Grove, IL project office, with periodic visits to the Wheatfield, IN project site as needed.

  • Commitment: Long-term assignment providing project stability through 2030.

  • Hours: Standard workweek is 50 hours (5x10s), with the expectation to work 60–70 hours/week during peak project execution phases.
