The capital Master Scheduler has responsibility for integrating, developing and maintaining, capital project schedules in the scheduling database. The Capital Master scheduler will interact with Project Managers, Engineers, Project controls analyst / Engineer, Designers, Estimators, Engineering Procurement, and Construction contractor/third party personnel, Turn around planner/schedulers, and any other personnel to coordinate capital portfolio projects on day-to-day work assignments involving project controls, project management, scheduling to achieve objectives relative to Engineering procurement and construction milestones, and efficient resource/capacity utilization.
Roles and Responsibilities are as followed:
- Develop and maintain capital FEL1 &2 portfolio schedules, as request by FEL team.
- The master scheduler is responsible for establishing, reviewing and maintaining the capital portfolio schedules in alignment with project controls process and procedures.
- Establishing the master schedule will involve working closely with project managers, technology team leaders and Engineers, all third party and contractor schedulers involve in capital projects, turn around planner, and schedulers, and others to coordinate capital portfolio project schedules that achieve the company objectives relative to efficient resource/capacity utilization.
- The master scheduler will be responsible for importing any third party/contractor schedules, analyzing all integrated schedules, and promote best practice schedule development to be used by other schedulers.
- Setup and Maintain Primavera P6 dashboard, for management report, including portfolio key performance indicators.
- If required interact with Oracle technical team to resolve issues / error generated by the P6 database.
- Coordination of Capital Project Managers with for the preparation of fully resource loaded Engineering Schedules, Construction Schedules, and Turnaround & Commissioning Schedules.
- Coordinate Monthly meeting with all scheduler, for schedule related issues, or global portfolio update and statuses.
- Conduct and participate inengineering, project, and commissioning meetings to predict, identify and mitigate issues related to schedule changes throughout the life of the project schedules within the Portfolio.
- Evaluate third party schedules for proper structure, resource loading and alignment to the goals stated above.
- Oversee reasons to schedule changes and ensure root causes for volatility of schedule being resolved.
- Head responsibility to achieve and sustain adherence to company rules associated with Master Scheduling.
- Assist company plus constant process improvements and facilitate problem-solving teams.
- Evaluate schedule for company commensurate to Earned Value Management practices as well as company policies applications.
- Select procedure and techniques to develop best-practice schedules for projects.
- Drive continuous process improvement.
- Conduct other business related activities as requested by Capital Portfolio Controller.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction Engineering or equivalent
- The individual must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the chemical, refining or other industrial manufacturing industries
- 3-5 years related work experience in project controls, scheduling or cost engineering
- 3-5 years Primavera P6 experience and scheduling in a construction and turnaround environment is an asset
- Advanced knowledge of Scheduling and engineering practices, Work Breakdown Structure creation and management, and work packaging strategy from engineering to construction
- Strong knowledge of MS Office, including the ability to manipulate large amounts of data and perform complex functions within Access and Excel
- Proficiency in computer skills including, but not limited to, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint and SAP
- Experience with project control scheduling software systems
- Demonstrated conceptual, analytical, and problem solving skills towards the generation of solutions and sound decisions
- Strong communication skills, confident interacting with stakeholders in verbal, written and electronic form
