Project Scheduler (Hybrid)

Project Scheduler (Hybrid)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Scheduler for a contract engagement running from September through the end of February.

This is a hybrid role involving remote work from home with occasional site travel leading up to execution, followed by full-time, 100% on-site presence during the active execution phase. The position will focus on building, managing, and updating the detailed schedule for a 21-day facility turnaround/outage scheduled for mid-January.

Key Responsibilities & Scope
  • Outage Schedule Development: Create, maintain, and analyze a Level 5 schedule (4- to 8-hour shift schedule activities) utilizing Primavera P6.

  • Integration: Integrate various contractor schedules with internal facility maintenance and IT activities into a cohesive master plan.

  • Progress & Performance Tracking:

    • Implement resource-based activity tracking using estimated effort hours / installed quantities.

    • Track and report daily site headcount against the planned effort-hour baseline.

    • Produce and update S-curves and progress curves (including early/late finish baselines) for leadership reporting.

  • Outage Execution Support: Provide accurate daily schedule updates and reporting for end-of-day shift turnover and management alignment meetings.

  • Risk & Opportunity Forecasting: Interrogate and analyze the schedule to identify potential delays, critical path changes, risks, and mitigation opportunities, communicating findings clearly to project leadership.

Schedule & Travel Requirements
  • Duration: September through late February.

  • Travel / Location:

    • Pre-Outage: Remote work from home with up to 50% travel for periodic site visits (coordinated with the Project Manager).

    • Outage Execution (Mid-January): Full-time on-site presence required for the entire 21-day execution window, including working flexible/extended outage shift hours as needed.

Qualifications & Key Requirements
  • Software: High proficiency in Primavera P6.

  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of Instrument & Electrical (I&E) workflows and controls scope (with general knowledge of mechanical work).

  • Estimating & Validation: Ability to independently develop or validate effort-hour estimates for defined work tasks.

  • Schedule Analysis: Proven ability to analyze, forecast, and clearly report schedule performance metrics to site leadership and management.

  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adjust working hours and travel schedule based on project phases and site needs.
